 TKC Vesta Evillages in 2006. www.vestaievillage.com

By the end of 2006 TKC’s Vesta Ievillages will serve 2000 families with:

  • free on site Learning Centers staffed by colleges and universities.
  • free computers and high speed internet in their homes. 
  • a multi-featured web application.

These new Evillages in Mohegan, Moosup, Norwalk, and Windham Connecticut and Camden, New Jersey follow the successful first two years of the Rainbow Terrace Ievillage, Cleveland Ohio:

  • 500 students and adults served.
  • 100 children achieved a one grade increase in math, science, and reading and writing.
  • 70 adults completed Learning Center Training and now attend College.
  • 96 adults earned a free computer and high speed internet in their units through training programs at the Center.
  • $550,000 21st Century grant from State of Ohio for teacher salaries.

Meadow Gardens and Monterey Village, Norwalk, Connecticut:  Vesta and Norwalk Housing Authority built a new Ievillage that will serve both properties.  

West Bay Apartments, Columbus, Ohio: Vesta took two units off line and created an Evillage staffed by professional educators, which serves young people and adults.  Occupancy increased from 65% to 95% after the Evillage opened.

Liberty Park, Camden, New Jersey:  Vesta will build a new Evillage as part of Vesta’s $14 million renovation of Liberty Park.  The State Economic Recovery Board recently awarded the Camden Evillage a $500,000 grant.

Washington DC and Seaview NJ:  TKC and Vesta will open these two Ievillages late in 2006.
